Repair Credit Yourself – Easier Than Credit Repair Companies Want You to Believe

August 5, 2009

How to Recognize a Credit Repair Scam

You’ve most likely seen the ads in your daily paper, on cable TV, and on the world wide web. You can hear them singing on the radio. You find their ads stuffed into your mail box, and maybe you have enjoyed cold calls while eating dinner, offering you credit repair wonders. They tend to make these or similar claims:

“Credit Score Down? No problem!”

“We can remove all your bankruptcies, liens, judgments and bad loans from your credit file for good!”

We can legally erase all your bad credit – 100% guaranteed.

We create a completely new credit file for you – 100 % legal.

It is not too good to believe these claims: they are very often signs of a scam. Some professionals even state they have never seen a legitimate credit repair company trying to make those claims. The fact is there is often not a quick fix for credit and creditworthiness. You can actually improve your credit report legitimately, but it takes some time, a conscious effort, and also sticking to a personal debt repayment plan.

Warning signals that should alert you on a Credit Repair Scam

Often, organizations target uninformed people who have bad credit histories with promises to clean up their credit report so they can get a car loan, a home mortgage, insurance, or even a job once they pay them a fee for the service. In reality, these organizations cant deliver an improved credit report for you using the tactics they promote. No one can, if they stick to the law, remove accurate, but damaging information from your credit report. So after you hand them over fees, often several hundred dollars or more, you are left with the same, or worse credit report and someone else has your money.

If you analyze a credit repair offer, here is how to tell if the organization or firm behind it is criminal:

The service company does not tell you your rights and what you can do for yourself for free.

The company insists that you refrain from getting into communication with any of the three major national credit reporting companies directly yourself.

The company tries to offer to create a brand new or false credit identity – and then get a completely new credit report – by applying for an EIN number, so that you use that instead of your old and “damaged” Social Security number.

The firm wants you to shell out cash for credit repair services before they provide you any services. Under what is called the the Credit Repair Organizations Act, companies and firms that are offering to repair your credit, cannot require you to hand over the money, until they have delivered in full all the services they have promised and advertised.

Plug-in Hybrid Cars vs Hybrid Cars

August 5, 2009

Hybrid cars are on everyone’s minds these days. $20, $30, $40 or even $50 for a tank of fuel? Who in their right mind really wants to pay that sort of money? But, frustrated, the petrol consumer sighs, but pays up. However, hybrid vehicles are being applauded for the little amount of gas they need to operate, and they are being driven off the forecourts of car dealerships each and everyday in ever increasing numbers.

But what about a plug-in hybrid? Most consumers have heard that these cars are great too. So, someone might be asking him or herself, what exactly a plug-in hybrid is? How do they work, and what the difference between a plug-in hybrid and a regular hybrid is?

Plug-in hybrids are capable of running just on batteries, but they can use petrol also. These types of hybrid cars have some of the features of hybrid vehicles. They are also very similar to all-electric vehicles.

Plug-in hybrid vehicles must be recharged externally by connecting a plug to an electrical power source. The combustion engine in plug-in hybrid vehicles is used only as a back up. These cars can run only on batteries if desired, but it is expected that these types of hybrid cars are recharged daily.

Hybrid cars can go just as many miles as a conventional car. Designed to go the extra mile where gas-mileage is concerned, hybrids can be driven on the highway, in cities, or wherever else a person needs to travel.

On the other hand, plug-in hybrids are designed to be driven commuter-length distances, meaning between twenty and sixty miles between destinations. This way, the plug-in hybrid does not have to use its back up combustion engine, but plug-in hybrids can go further using gas as well.

Hybrids help to reduce pollution, but they do still pollute the air. Compared with plug-in hybrids, hybrid cars still have a long way to go as far as pollution is concerned. Because plug-in hybrid cars can run solely on their battery power, they don’t have to emit waste fuel emissions at all.

Plug-in hybrids actually do combat greenhouse gas emissions and plug-in hybrids use virtually no oil, imported or not. Studies have shown that electric hybrids emit at least 67% less greenhouse gases compared with petrol cars. Since the product used to power plug-in hybrids is completely renewable, the difference in greenhouse gas emissions may be even greater than the study showed.

And so there you have it. Those are the main differences between plug-in hybrids and regular hybrid cars. It makes a big difference, but you would be surprised how little that matters at the current moment. And that’s only because plug-in hybrids are not being marketed to consumers at this present time. But this article should get you excited about the wonderful plug-in hybrid car, coming soon to a dealership near you.

And it’s going to be a spectacular debut too, since people already like the current hybrid car models, but they haven’t seen anything yet until they see the new plug-in hybrid cars. However, for now, maybe we should just be satisfied with what we already have, because who knows? Before plug-in hybrid cars are brought out onto the forecourts, something even better might be introduced onto the market.
