Automobile Insurance — Advice For Considerable Discounts
September 13, 2009
An affordable auto insurance rate can be achieved in a lot of ways. But at the same time, some methods folks adopt in order to reduce cost generally result in less than sufficient coverage. This is, however, not the case with the tips I’ll share with you in this discourse as you’ll save while still maintaining enough coverage….
1. You can get a considerable discount if a child on your policy does not use the vehicle for a protracted length of time because he/she is is in college. If your kid is in college then you should talk to your insurance agent about the possibility of getting this discount. I must point out, however, that some insurance companies do not give this.
2. Certain cars cost much to insure. So as you check out the wonderful specs of the car you intend to buy, don’t forget to ask how much it typically costs to insure. Two things that will make you pay more for auto insurance are a vehicle’s crash rating and theft rate.
Another thing to take into consideration is a car’s maintenance cost as it is as well a factor that affects your auto insurance premium. I don’t know about you; but it is a smart thing to choose a comparable car that is less expensive to insure.
3. Paying your premium once a year will attract lower rates than choosing monthly payments. Yes, monthly payments might be less stressful but they are also costly.
If you do transactions with banks you’ll agree with me that each check you process is considered transaction which attracts charges. Over the course of a year, your monthly checks would be processed separately since they are all separate transactions. This implies that you will pay transaction charges twelve times..
Besides there are also administrative costs that are incurred due to the monthly payment option. A good example of such is the expense associated with mailing payment notices..
These and more are then added to your premium thus making it more than if you paid yearly.
4. You’ll get lower auto insurance rates if you pay by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). This simply means your insurance provider takes your premiums automatically from your account each month without mailing you payment notices. This eliminates administrative overheads like those incurred when sending payment notices. Your rate is therefore brought down in line with the lower cost of providing insurance to you.
5. You will save much if you really have between 25-30 minutes. Visit, receive and compare auto insurance quotes from various insurance quotes sites. The cheapest offer should be your choice easily.
But, you have to look beyond just the lowest quote to the best price/value. The cheapest may not be the best price/value for you as a person.

How a Racing Harness Can Keep You Safe on the Track
September 13, 2009
The race car industry is one that implies constant risks for drivers as they careen down the track at unfathomable speeds for most drivers, taking on significant personal risks in order to achieve a much-coveted trophy, title, etc. Due to the high stakes game of race car driving, safety issues have taken a central role in this sport activity, giving rise to all sorts of technologies, many later implemented in other contexts.
The single most important safety mechanism inside a race car is the racing harness, and a driver is effectively investing all their hopes for surviving a crash on this device, as well as their own talent and driving skills out on the track, of course.
Over the course of time, many different kinds of racing harnesses have been invented and put into place in vehicles, without a single variety being designated as standard for the industry. As successive accidents and problems arose, designers and engineers discovered ever more valuable information about the nature of safety in a race car, and hence advanced the qualities of racing harnesses considerably to where they are today, which is quite advanced compared to even just twenty years ago.
Strictly speaking, a racing harness is defined by the fact that it is bound not to the seat-as is the case for ordinary road vehicles-but rather to the frame or subframe of the car itself, which provides additional security.
Of all the different harnesses in the racing industry, it’s usual to see upwards of 4 different straps incorporated, with 6 being the most standard arrangement at the moment. A major advance throughout the industry that brought so many teams up to the 6-point harness standard was occasioned by the fatal accident of a famous driver, Dale Earnhardt as a matter of fact; after the accident, many racing teams made the decision to include the extra strap between the driver’s legs.
Despite however many straps a racing harness may have, one of the major distinguishing features of racing harnesses is the kind of fastening mechanism that is used. The composition and method of fastening of the harnesses can be quite different from one vehicle to the next in racing, and are pretty much always radically different than ordinary seat belt latches in commercial vehicles.
As with everything on a race car, they need to find the perfect balance of lightness and toughness-no simple feat at all. Carbon Fiber has emerged as one of the most reliable materials to make them out of, and is currently used by the biggest harness manufacturers in the racing industry.
A harness must be practically impossible to open and unlock while driving, a major safety concern indeed: the cam lock buckle is one of the most ideal models in this aspect. When you factor in the rotational locking mechanism to this design, there is hardly a chance at all that the harness could come undone while operating the vehicle–a great relief to the driver and the whole racing team. Finally, they are usually made to be shockproof and dust proof, further minimizing the risk of anything going awry.
A curiosity of the racing harness industry is that several of the lessons learned and the technologies advanced have been put to use in other contexts, such as the aviation industry (both passenger and military). In fact, the main racing harness manufacturers also provide major airplane manufacturers with seat belts.

A Young Racer Jumps to the Bigs
September 13, 2009
Bobby LaPonte is admittedly only a kid. He’s 6 years old, the only child of his parents, and resides with his family in Johns Creek, Georgia.
Though Bobby has giant dreams. Although jovial in age, he’s fully fixated on his fantasy to one day compete in NASCAR’s giant leagues, the Sprint Cup Series.
Bobby’s aspirations are so large, actually, that he often dreams regarding racing with the big boys. As per to his parents, Larry and Nancy, he even mimicks the clamor of NASCAR cars during his sleeping hours.
Larry feels that his boy acquired his love of NASCAR while still a fetus.
“I raced the amateur road course circuit for 10 seasons,” he claimed. “When my spouse was pregnant with Bobby, she used to come to see me race and we suppose that’s when Bobby started his obsession with racing.”
Much akin to Jeff Gordon and his girl Ella, the LaPontes have photographs of youthful Bobby jumping in and out of his father’s race car when he was just a baby.
Bobby might drive every day if he could, and he gets that opportunity with the long race year, from March until November, in the south. He and his dad compete every Saturday and Sunday, often traveling to other states, including Alabama, North Carolina, and Tennessee, to participate in their regional events.
This previous July, Bobby took park in his 1st countrywide finals event. He earned a victory in his semifinal heat race.
Bobby is quick to speak you that he competes in quarter midgets, a smaller variety of the USAC Midget Sprint cars that Cup racers such as NASCAR’s championship point president Tony Stewart started his career driving.
Bobby lets you recognize that because he plans to trail in Stewart’s footprints and follow that same road in his own driving career.
This little guy indeed is looking forward to achieving his huge NASCAR dreams, that of driving with his heroes in the seasons in store.

Choosing The Ideal Accident Lawyer For You
September 13, 2009
After an accident it is essential that you call the right accident lawyer. You need someone knowledgeable in their field. You also need someone with a strong reputation. You need someone who not only understands the law but understands the stages that most accident victims go through. In many cases, there will be physical and emotional issues that crop up as your case is investigated, tried, and closed. Having someone on your side that the opponent’s lawyer respects helps you get the message across that you will not be run over twice.
When you can’t work, you can’t pay your bills. When you can’t pay your bills, you run the risk of serious financial disaster. Everything you do from the moment the accident happens until your case is closed will have an impact on the outcome. Immediately after an accident you should do two things. First, go straight to the doctor or emergency room and second, call a very good accident lawyer.
Having the chronic guidance of an accident lawyer can change the outcome of your case. If you follow his or her advice, listen to his or her guidance, and work with the rules that are set forth you will likely experience a fair outcome.
There are more reckless accidents today than ever before. Most of these accidents happen due to careless drivers. Eating on the go, cranking the sound system, and cell phones have increased out reckless accident count significantly. Make sure that you or someone who can step in for you takes as many photographs of the accident as possible. Photographic evidence can be turned over to your lawyer for determining the appropriateness of submitting them as evidence.
Choosing an accident lawyer and taking someone who hurt you to court is not about the money. You will need the money in order to compensate for the time your lost at work, the income that you didn’t receive, the medical bills you will have to pay, and the damage to your car, body, mind, and spirit. It’s about being able to provide a life and being able to put things back together as closely as possible to the level playing field you had before the accident.
Putting your life back together can take a long time. You will have physical and psychological issues that will need to be dealt with and you will want to be able to make sure that you end up as healthy as possible. In order to do this, you often have to hold the individual responsible for causing your injuries accountable for their actions.
It’s not infrequent for many people to hire the first attorney they come across even though they are not exactly comfortable with their style or their ability to represent well. You need to feel as though your accident lawyer is not only working hard for your best interests, but that you will be well taken care of from the first meeting to the last.
